Once a devotee of God had a wonderful dream. He was walking with God

on the seashore. The pleasant smile on his face clearly showed that he was

 enjoying the walk. God said to the man, "Look here on the sand.

You will find different happenings of your life clearly marked on it." The man

carefully watched it . As he noticed two pairs of footprints on the sand he asked God

for the reason. God replied." One pair is yours the other one is mine.

 I was with you the very movement of your birth."

                       It made the man happy and joyful. As he praised God for His love,

care and concern, he noticed somthing wrong with it. In the most difficult situations

of his life he could find only one pair of footprints. The thought that when he was in trouble

God had left him to be alone pierced into his heart and the beautiful smile on his face

slowly faded away.

                      For a few seconds he kept mum,then he asked in despair, O Lord, you said

that you would be always with me. Then why did you leave me alone when I was in pain and trouble?"

God thought for a movement and replied,"My dear son,do you think I can leave you alone

in your suffering? Do you know why we don't see two pairs of footprint in certain situations?

On those occasions I was carrying you on my sholders to protect you. And the footprints

you find on the sand are not yours, but mine."

                        To belive in the providence of God means to have faith and trust in his goodness.

It is based on the conviction that if God has created me,He will continue to stay with me all through my life.

The world can be  rightly compared to an ocean. And your life to  little boat.There will be stroms

as well as hurricanes that toss your boat on the waves. But believe that God will protect and help

 you to sail through life.
