Whats Hot for 2008 ? Eco ?
Tuesday March 04, 2008
Even though we saw huge gains in clean-energy stocks in 2007, I expect 2008 will also be a good year for most emerging energy technology stocks. Record oil prices, The green house effect and world wide air pollution continue to lift the sector and fuel enthusiasm for a more eco friendly world in the coming years. Last year he WilderHill clean energy index rose over 58 percent for the year !

Solar was the big winner in 2007. Most solar stocks in the index rose over 100 percent. First Solar, a maker of thin-film solar panels jumped from $28 to $283 in the last year leading the sector. Others worth watching this year will be... AKNS,ASTI,CSUN,ESLR,HOKU and SOLF...Lets also keep an eye on Wind energy. Some of the stocks to watch here for growth are: APWR,AWNE,CPTC and DKSC.

Electric cars: Tesla cooperation makes a very fast (120 mph) total electric car yet they are private. One public company that's about to be a major player is Hybrid Technologies HYBR, this company has a line of 100% electric cars about to be on display at the NY auto show the last week of March 2008.

I believe we will see some eco friendly companies emerge in 2008 also and position themselves to take advantage of new laws with California spearheading a national effort. Eco friendly companies making products such as bio friendly grocery bags, containers and plastics that dissolve in short periods of time leaving nothing more than water and degradable biomass behind. That will be the making of a new world for us and our children. This is our future.

Haven't seen Indiana Jones yet-- I'll have to hit it up when I get enough money to spend on a movie! Ok, I must admit though, I spent dough on "Sex and the City"! It was fun; just a really long episode w/ drinks beforehand and some popcorn at the theater... therefore I'm tapped out, haha. Alright, have a good Monday!
